Ash wood: Ash is light to medium brown in color. Sapwood can be very broad and tends to be beige or light brown in color, which is not always clearly or sharply delineated from the heartwood. It has a medium to coarse texture similar to oak. The grain is almost always straight and regular, although moderately corrugated or grained boards can sometimes be found.
Zebrawood is light brown or cream in color with dark brown stripes that vaguely resemble the stripes on a zebra. Depending on whether the wood is flat or quarter-sawn, the strips can be either chaotic and wavy (flat-sawn) or more even (quarter-sawn).
Walnut: Walnut can range from a lighter, pale brown to a dark chocolate brown with darker brown streaks. The color can sometimes have a gray, purple, or reddish tinge. The sapwood is almost white. Wood from fruit trees that have been grafted with English walnut (Juglans regia) may have a colored / striped appearance near the finishing, sometimes referred to as "marbled Claro walnut". Claro walnut can occasionally also be found with grained patterns, such as: curly, wrinkled, and napped. The grain is usually straight, but it can also be irregular. It has a medium texture and a moderate natural sheen.
