The nature of this reed allows for an extremely pure sound. An extremely fine reed tip (i.e. the most vibrating part of the reed) is balanced with a very solid shank (a lot of reed in the part that slowly rises to the end of the reed). These blades are recognizable by a horizontal line at the gate. The result is a fine, "crisp" response and a full, dark tone.
Uniform strength
All Vandoren reeds are tested and graded with highly sensitive electronic measuring instruments. This provides the greatest possible assurance that the contents of a package will not show any variation within the thickness.
Protection
Each Vandoren reed is individually stored in a special plastic protective cover to prevent damage.
