In cooperation with well-known clarinetists, we have revised our Böhm clarinets. Thanks to the newly developed inner bore, we have succeeded in transferring the noble, full and soft clarinet tone of our orchestral models to our Böhm clarinets. The inner bore of our Böhm clarinets is identical to our orchestral models and the same mouthpieces can be used. The handcrafted flap mechanism is upgraded by a newly developed ball-and-socket mechanism in the pillars, which guarantees maximum stability and a light, noiseless flap action.

The company Otmar Hammerschmidt - Austria and the internationally known solo clarinetist Prof. Roger Salander developed a new orchestra Böhm clarinet model RS, which sets new standards in clarinet construction in dynamics, tuning, tone and key mechanism.
The craftsmanship of our instrument makers, decades of practical experience, constant improvements, close contacts with Prof. Roger Salander, combined with modern manufacturing techniques and materials have resulted in this new RS model.
Hammerschmidt clarinets have been handcrafted since 1873 in a quality and perfection that musicians from all over the world appreciate when it comes to reliability and the unmistakable clarinet tone.
Otmar Hammerschmidt clarinets embody harmony and progress with more than 130 years of family tradition and are unmatched in mood and tone.
drilling
Thanks to the newly developed 15 mm inner bore, we have succeeded in realizing the noble, full, soft Viennese clarinet tone with Boehm clarinets as well.
Ball joint mechanics
Instead of the conventional pointed screws, stainless ball joints are used in RS models, which prevents the mechanics from rattling and jamming. The valve axis is screwed on one side with a screw to the joint ball on the column. This means that the key has no side play and the padding closes the tone hole exactly. An inserted bearing axis is located on the opposite side and enables longitudinal compensation in the event of thermal expansion. Ball joints are maintenance-free and no longer need to be adjusted.
Magnet systems
The RS models use noiseless and maintenance-free magnet systems instead of springs or pin Connections.
