Many mouthpiece manufacturers work with model designations that allow only inadequate conclusions to be drawn about cup diameter, cup depth and rim contour. Roland Klier was quick to recognize the disadvantages of this for the player looking for a mouthpiece.
In 1964, he designed the Exclusive line, a logical and easy-to-understand labeling system that allows the player to identify all relevant data at a glance using the model number.
In addition, he developed a revolutionary concept in the combination of cup, bore and back bore, which enabled Klier mouthpieces to be used in any musical style.
The unusually large selection in the Exclusive line offers every wind player the opportunity to find their own personal mouthpiece. In addition, the edge contours of trumpet, cornet and flugelhorn mouthpieces are identical with the same cup diameter. This allows the player to change mouthpieces quickly and easily.
The unique outer shape of the Exclusive series is the result of numerous attempts to work out the optimum mouthpiece weight. It has established itself as an unmistakable feature of the JK Exclusive series.
The Exclusive-Export line is an addition to the respective Exclusive series. The rims are identical in diameter and rim shape to the Exclusive series to make it easy to switch between the series.
The sound of the Export line is geared towards symphonic wind music and the classical brass band.
