The octave bassoon is the smallest of our bassoons and in the simple version it has 5 keys. It sounds one octave higher than the normal bassoon. The fingering is recorder-like, or like that of the historical bassoon. It is ideal as a clear drawing bass in a recorder ensemble - with extended low register up to Bb.
Our bassoonini can be used in many different ways:
- as an alto and tenor instrument in an ensemble
- as a timbre in wind band music
- as bass in the recorder group
- as a solo instrument for historical and modern literature
- as a musical effect - optical and acoustic
- and of course as a children's instrument for early instrumental instruction
(the youngest quint bassoon student we know was 3 1/2 years old)
Due to our many years of experience with small bassoons, we were able to bring a new generation with perfect playing characteristics to the market. Our bassoons are made of sycamore maple with natural rubber lining like a normal bassoon. With a light embouchure with a normal bassoon reed, they are characterized by an even response with a full sound from the lowest to the highest notes. The tuning is stable in all registers with normal bassoon fingering (models Fg 4 and Fg 5).
For the sake of your health!
