Guntram Wolf Fg 5 plus major-seventh junior bassoon (g) (piano mechanism)
(Length: 84.5 cm - Weight: 0.95 kg)
The tradition of the fifth bassoon goes back to the tenor dulcian. It sounds a fifth higher than the normal bassoon. It is particularly suitable as a children's bassoon for early instrumental lessons in music schools. When played in the treble clef, C-parts are taken over without being transported. It is therefore particularly suitable as a middle-voice instrument in any ensemble. Modern bassoon fingerings apply to the bass clef (transposed) and the tenor clef can be read as a bass clef without being transposed.
Also available: Model Fg5 without complete piano mechanism.
Our bassoons can be used in a variety of ways:
• as an alto and tenor instrument in an ensemble
• as timbre in brass music
• as bass in the recorder group
• as a solo instrument for historical and modern literature
• as a musical effect - visually and acoustically
• and of course as a children's instrument for early instrumental lessons
(the youngest bassoon student known to us was 3 1/2 years old)

Due to our many years of experience with small bassoons, we were able to bring a new generation with perfect playing characteristics onto the market. Our bassoons are made of sycamore maple with a natural rubber lining, just like a normal bassoon. With a light approach with a normal bassoon reed, they are characterized by an even response with a full sound from the lowest to the highest notes. The tuning is stable in all registers with the usual bassoon fingering (models Fg 4 and Fg 5).
For the sake of your health!
Due to increasing allergies, our mechanisms are generally silver-plated.
Attention! Available by special order only. No returns accepted, as the instrument is custom-made after purchase.
