Guntram Wolf F1 light beginner oboe with reduced French action and semi-automatic
"An instrument for children should actually be better than an instrument for professionals...."
Our entry level French oboe model Is the F1 model.
Weight (very important for children):
Probably the lightest option in the truest sense when it comes to oboes.
We use exclusively sycamore maple with complete natural rubber lining (as also well proven in bassoon making) including all tone holes. Thus it is perfectly protected against weathering and is also completely insensitive to cracks, in contrast to the tropical woods usually used.
Bore:
We have developed a bore that gives our oboes an unusually light, free response - even in the lower register - and where the octaves are right!
Mechanics:
The simplified conservatory system with fully capped tone holes and octave semi-automatic is tighter especially for small hands.
The complete action is high gloss silver plated.
Playing characteristics:
The oboe features a round, blendable sound and has an easy response in all registers, especially in the low register.
Other plus points are the exact tuning and clean octaves.
It is played with normal French oboe reeds - but even when using very light, child-scraped reeds, the playing characteristics are maintained.
Attention! Available by special order only. No returns accepted, as the instrument is custom-made after purchase.
