Nickel silver is used for the headjoint, the body and the entire key mechanism of the FL-501RE. This robust material has proven itself in flute construction because of its good technical and sonic properties.
The entire surface of the flute is silver-plated. This not only increases the high-quality look of the instrument, but also especially the pleasant feel when playing. The flute has open ring keys with holes in the key covers. With ring keys, the tone hole is sealed by the finger. The direct contact results in more flexible grip and musical design options. At the same time, a system with open keys requires a more precise finger technique, which in turn benefits a more precise flute playing.
The "ARIOSO" flutes of the 501 series are equipped with an elegant pointed lid mechanism. In the case of flaps that are not pressed directly with the finger, the flap cover is connected to the axle via a tapered holding arm. This method, adopted by professional flute makers, gives the instrument a very high quality appearance. The longer holding arms provide additional stability and distribute the pressure force more evenly on the flaps.
The flute has an E mechanism, which makes it easier to address and intonate the “e” in the high third octave. The so-called "Off-Set-G" refers to the G-valve that is pulled forward towards the left ring finger and thus improves its accessibility.
High-quality natural cork is used as a damping material for a very pleasant feel and low-noise operation of the key mechanism. Quality cushions from the Italian brand manufacturer Pisoni are used to ensure that the keys close reliably, even when the pressure on the tone hole is low.
