The Antoine Courtois Legend 420 trombones offer a wide range of possible customizations, including different bells, slide rails, and rotary valve mechanisms. Every musician is free to adapt the instrument to their personal playing style while enjoying the quality of precision, projection, and overall tone. The Antoine Courtois Legend 420 trombones feature fully handcrafted bells that adapt to the musician's playing over time. The bells are available in three different metals/alloys: yellow brass, pink brass, and solid silver.
With their elegant and homogeneous sound, yellow brass bells offer a beautiful balance between the different playing parameters, making it the most widely used and most frequently played alloy in the world.
Orchestral musicians particularly like pink brass bells for their warmer tones and the possibility of a broader and more powerful playing style, which is required for the great works of the classical repertoire. Many soloists opt for solid silver bells for a precise and unique tone that is rich in harmonics. Four slide models are available for the Legend 420 trombones.
Standard slides are made of yellow brass with nickel sleeves for a powerful, stable tone; yellow brass with extrusions for a livelier and more responsive feel; ultra-light brass with a soldered sterling lead pipe for a light, clear, centered tone; and nickel silver slides for broader and more powerful playing qualities.
