Research has shown that cryogenic treatment improves the mechanical and physical properties of many materials. The cryogenic treatment process consists in bringing material to a very low temperature (-196 degrees C) using liquid nitrogen. This treatment can improve the strength of the brass, reduce residual stress, and improve wear resistance and corrosion resistance. The. Cryogenically treated saxophone has a rounder tone, better resonance, less resistance when playing and has a fuller sound in the full register. These benefits are now being applied to our professional saxophones. We are convinced that even better performance can be achieved in this way.
