ESM mouthpiece for Bb clarinet German system with metal ring (MR)
Clarinet mouthpieces German
The German mouthpieces developed similarly to the Böhmmundpieces. In the meantime we have redesigned the outer shape, made a small correction to the chamber and thus made the tone a little darker. Various mouthpieces have been equipped with completely new tracks.
The 'W2C' is particularly suitable as a concert mouthpiece. With an opening of 0.88 mm and a length of 20.0 mm, it is also recommended for chamber music. It has an overall closed, pleasantly dark tone and is suitable for beginners.
The 'W3C' is characterized by an easy response and a big tone.
The 'W2A' with an opening of 0.90 mm has with a track length of 19.0 a safe all-round track with a large dynamic width. Its tone is good and dark - typically German - and the response as well as the mood and leaf-friendliness are problem-free. This mouthpiece is also highly recommended for beginners.
Our bestseller is the 'W5A' with an opening of 0.90 mm and a face length of 20.0 mm, which is a very professional mouthpiece. His character: dark, rich tone with - as Claus Raumberger, music journalist and author of ‘Das Saxophon’, said - remarkable register colors. It has an easy response and is not very sensitive to leaves.
The PS1 with an opening of 1.00 mm and a track length of 21 mm is popular among jazz musicians.
If you study our range carefully, you will find, in addition to the company's internal railway names, those with the initials or the entire name of well-known artists. One of the specialties of ESM is the computer-aided track development according to the ideas of the respective musician. The latest creation are mouthpieces for the German clarinet, which were developed in collaboration with Kerstin Grötsch, professor at the Robert Schumann Institute in Düsseldorf.
The mouthpieces are available in two orifices. "KG 1" has an opening of 1.01 mm with a track length of 21.0 mm and can therefore be described as well open for the German system (although it should be noted that many of the wind players of the model here have recently been leaning towards wider tracks) . Much more open is the “KG 2” model, with 1.09 mm (with the same length) reminiscent of medium-sized Boehm mouthpieces. Since the tipping point was moved quite far forward on the web, an easy response could be achieved: with lighter leaves there is also no risk of closing. Despite the large openings, the mouthpieces are very reed-friendly, although you should not blow too hard. All German cuts that do not have a too thick leaf tip are suitable; However, that is a matter of approach. Some Boehm reeds can also be used (some clarinetists like this combination). The tone produced with the "KG" tracks is round, large and has a considerable projection. Amateurs have to be careful with their intonation; Overall, the railways are designed more for the semi- and fully professional area.
The "KG" models are made from the acrylic composite developed by ESM, which combines high web resistance with excellent acoustic properties. ESM pulls the tracks with precision machines from the Swiss watch industry, which is why even failure is guaranteed. In addition to the conventional versions, the models are available with a ring on the pin, which contributes to better projection and break resistance; the mouthpieces then have the suffix “MR”.
The SP4 mouthpiece impresses with its easy response and helps beginners to better get started. It has become a very popular mouthpiece. It has an opening of 0.93 mm and a web length of 23.5 mm.
Many of these mouthpieces are also available with a metal ring. Please just ask us.
