Research and development is a rigorous and creative process in equal measure.
In collaboration with our workshops and internationally renowned clarinetists, Paul Meyer worked on the research project for the development of a new acoustic, which resulted in the Divine clarinet. This model benefits from the same hole placement as the Tosca model, which ensures better intonation in every register.
The improved bore favors flexible voice crossing as well as freer blowing in the most demanding pieces.
The Bb clarinet "Divine" comes with two pears - 65mm (442Hz) and 66mm (440Hz) - and the A model with 65mm (440Hz) and 64mm (442Hz).
The Divine is made of grenadilla wood with specific top piece green line tone hole slots that eliminate air leakage at tone holes that are prone to breakage.
The carbon wire (a Buffet Crampon patent) that replaces the metal rings makes the clarinet 60 grams lighter, contributing to its unique balance with more vibration and freer blowing.
Like the Tosca model, the Divine clarinets feature an intonation correction key for the low F.
A new action and new key fingerings improve the clarinet's ergonomics without destabilizing the musician's abilities.
While the Tosca clarinet was the upper class model of the R13 bore, the Divine features Buffet Crampon's latest development of the RC bore.
This new clarinet series represents a significant step in Buffet Crampon's history by merging technical expertise with unparalleled craftsmanship in the manufacture of French wind instruments.
